Frequently Asked Questions

Most commonly asked questions on our website Design Services. If you have any more questions please feel free to email info@phoenixmedia.ie and we will be happy to answer them.

Our turnaround time is anywhere between 7-14 days. Even after the website is designed there is still quite a lot of work to do in the backend to make sure it is optimised for both google and speed performance

You only pay what we quote you at the initial consultation. There will be no surprise bills or extra charges unless you require extra work to be carried out or you order extras such as an SSL cert or CDN.

For standard webistes no maintenance is required the small bit of maintenance your site needs is included in the hosting price. For joomla it is highly recommended that you keep your website and database updated. You can do this yourself or we can do it for you. Our basic website maintenance starts at just €19.99 per month. Some sites need less maintenance than others for example ecommerce websites need to be updated every month. Maintenance is optional and can be cancelled any time you like.

Like your windows system or even your phone, all cms systems such as wordpress or joomla will release system updates that contain security updates and patches to ensure your website is kept secure and up to date. Not updating your site would be similar to not updating your phone or laptop. The longer you leave it the more vulnerable it gets.

CMS systems are database driven websites and as such its the database that is particularly vulnerable to potential security breaches. Standard websites are built purely with HTML, CSS and Javascipt and don't require a database to function. Therefore they don't have a database that could be potentially exploited nor are there any security patches or performance patches needed.

The biggest difference between joomla and a standard website is you can't edit or add content yourself. If you don't intend to add much content a standard website is a great option for anyone. It's cheaper and doesn't require any maintenance
